In 1921, the United States Mint resumed production of US silver dollars for the first time since 1904. When coining resumed, the US Mint featured its historic Morgan Silver Dollar design. This image was struck on the coins through December 1921. On December 28, 1921, the United States Mint began striking new silver dollars with the last circulation silver dollar design in American history; the Peace Silver Dollar.
