Released in 1971, Diamonds Are Forever was the seventh feature film in the official Eon Productions franchise of films. The storyline of the film comes directly from an Ian Fleming novel written in 1956 that bore the same name.

Diamonds Are Forever marked the return of Sean Connery to the franchise. Connery had previously portrayed the fictional secret agent through the first five consecutive films in the franchise.
